KE Duplicate Bill is an independent consumer information resource for K-Electric customers in Karachi. We take user privacy seriously because the people who use this site are typically looking up an electricity bill in a hurry — sometimes from a shared device, sometimes after a power cut, often a few hours before the due-date late-payment surcharge applies. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what data touches our servers, what we do with it, and what we deliberately refuse to do with it.
What we collect
KE Duplicate Bill does not require accounts or signups. We do not store the K-Electric account or reference numbers you enter into our bill lookup. Requests are forwarded to K-Electric's official infrastructure and the response is rendered for you alone.
When you visit any page on this site, our web server records the standard request log entries that every web server writes by default — IP address, user agent (browser and OS), the URL you requested, the referring URL, and the HTTP response status. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are used only for security investigations (e.g. blocking brute-force or scraping abuse) and infrastructure performance debugging. They are never sold, never merged with bill-lookup queries, and never used to build a behavioural profile of any visitor.
What we deliberately do not collect
- We do not ask for your CNIC, mobile number, OTP, K-Electric Live password, or any other authentication credential. K-Electric will never ask for these from a third-party site either — if any site asks you for an OTP to "show your bill", close the tab.
- We do not store the 13-digit K-Electric account number or the per-cycle reference number you enter into the bill lookup. The number is held in memory for the few seconds required to request the bill PDF from K-Electric's public infrastructure, and then discarded.
- We do not store the contents of the retrieved bill — the PDF is streamed straight to your browser. We cannot tell you what you owed last month, even if you ask, because we never had a copy.
- We do not set advertising or remarketing cookies. There is no third-party retargeting script on this site.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and understand which guides are most useful. We do not set advertising cookies or share personal data with third parties.
Specifically, our analytics provider records aggregate page views, referring source category (search, direct, social), approximate country, device class (desktop / mobile / tablet) and the user-agent browser family. It does not place a persistent cookie, does not fingerprint your device, and does not read your account number — because the account number is never sent to it. Aggregate counts are used to decide which guides need updating (a page that suddenly spikes in traffic usually means a NEPRA notification dropped) and which need rewriting (a page with high bounce rate usually means the opening paragraph isn't answering the search query).
Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed for the site to function and (optionally) anonymous analytics. You can block cookies in your browser without losing core functionality.
Children's privacy
KE Duplicate Bill is intended for adult bill-payers in Pakistan. We do not knowingly collect any data from users under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has interacted with the site, email us and we will delete any associated server-log entries on request.
Third-party links
Our editorial guides link out to authoritative sources including the K-Electric official website (ke.com.pk), NEPRA (nepra.org.pk), FBR, the Ministry of Energy, AEDB and JazzCash / EasyPaisa. Once you click an outbound link you are subject to the destination site's own privacy policy and cookie practices — please review them. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the privacy practices of any third-party website.
Data retention and deletion
Because we keep no personal data tied to bill lookups in the first place, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf for that workflow. For correspondence sent to our editorial inbox, we retain the email thread for 12 months and then permanently delete it. To request earlier deletion of any correspondence, see "Your rights" below.
International users
The site is hosted on infrastructure that may route requests through servers outside Pakistan for performance reasons (CDN caching, DDoS protection). No personally identifiable data is persisted on these intermediate servers; only standard request logs (described above) are stored, and only in aggregated form. By using the site you consent to this routing.
Your rights
To request deletion of any data you believe we hold, email privacy@keduplicatebill.pk.
You also have the right to ask what data we hold about you (you will almost always receive the answer "none tied to an identifier"), to ask us to correct any inaccurate published information about a topic, and to opt out of analytics by enabling your browser's Do Not Track flag — we honour it. Any genuine privacy request is acknowledged within 72 hours and resolved within 14 working days.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever our data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page is your reference point. Material changes (e.g. adding a new analytics tool or a new third-party integration) will be highlighted at the top of the page for at least 30 days after they take effect.
