What are KE fixed charges?

Fixed charges are the non-usage components of your K-Electric bill. You pay them every month regardless of consumption. They cover the cost of providing and maintaining your connection, the meter, regulatory fees, and PTV licensing.

  • Meter Rent — Single Phase: PKR 30/month
  • Meter Rent — Three Phase: PKR 50/month

  • PTV License Fee — Residential: PKR 35/month
  • PTV License Fee — Commercial: PKR 60/month

Who is exempt from fixed charges?

Protected consumers — residential users who consume ≤ 200 units/month for 6 consecutive months and whose sanctioned load is below 5 kW — are exempt from the capacity charge. They still pay meter rent and PTV fee. Lifeline consumers (≤100 units) get the deepest exemptions. Not sure where you stand? Try the protected-consumer eligibility checker.
